FAQ's
Do I need a referral to start counselling?
No referral is needed. You can contact me directly to arrange an appointment.
What can I expect in my first session?
The first session is an opportunity to talk about what brings you to counselling and what you hope to gain. We’ll discuss how we will work together, and you’ll have a chance to ask any questions. We will agree a written contract with each other.
How long does each session last?
Sessions last 50 minutes and are usually held weekly.
How many sessions will I need?
The number of sessions varies from person to person. Some find short-term counselling helpful, while others prefer longer-term support. We’ll review your progress regularly and decide together what feels right. I would recommend commencing with at least 6 sessions.
Is counselling confidential?
Yes. What you share in counselling is kept private, except in rare circumstances where there may be a risk of harm to yourself or others.
